The brand
Aviendo
Aviendo was founded in 2013 by Anders Nielsen and Jo, who left the shipping industry to create something that would stand the test of time. Inspiration came from the Danish design tradition and H.C. Andersen’s fairy tales – and in 2014, the first figure, ‘The Ugly Duckling’, was launched at the Danish Architecture Centre. The philosophy remains the same as it was from the very beginning: objects reduced to their essence, crafted with solid workmanship to ensure they last – and designed to reward a second glance. Handcrafted wooden figures that are equal parts toy, sculpture and heirloom.
